Age 97, of Diligent River, Maxwell A. Bowden passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Glasgow Mountain, he was a son of the late Albert and Eva (Varner) Bowden. He is survived by a daughter, Theresa; sons, Chris; Wyman (Brenda); Danny; a sister, Ruby Yorke; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Doris Hatfield in 2005; sisters, Greta and Adelaide; brothers, Hazen, Donald, Hugh, Guy and Glendon. A private family graveside service will be held at the Diligent River Baptist Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Chignecto Manor, Advocate Harbour or to the South Cumberland Community Care Centre Foundation, Parrsboro.
