
William "Bill" Gilmour

William (Bill) Daniel Gilmour passed away peacefully on July 7, 2016. Bill was born on the family farm on April 3, 1929, where he lived and worked until retiring to Moose Jaw in his eighties. A well-respected farmer and good neighbor, he served on the boards of the Moose Jaw Co-op, Tuxford Wheat Pool and St. Andrews United Church. He also served as 2nd Lieutenant in the Saskatchewan Dragoons Army Reserve Unit. Bill attended Clinton School, and later Central High School in Moose Jaw. There he met the love of his life, Evelyn, whom he married in 1950. He has now joined his beloved who passed away on June 19 of this year. Bill and Evelyn’s family, daughter Nancey Gilmour-McCarthy and husband Rod McCarthy; Rod Gilmour and wife Karla Sommerfeld; and grandchildren Alannah, Lauren, Madeline, Katharine and Clint wish to thank everyone for their support. Rather than a funeral at this time, a graveside memorial service for both Evelyn and Bill will be held at a later date.
