Elizabeth “Betty” Pettipas, age 82 of Albert St., New Glasgow passed away July 9, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late Sarah MacLean and the niece of the late Angus MacLean Sr., Merigomish.
Betty worked as a hairdresser for many years, starting in New Glasgow and later opened her own shop in Port Hawkesbury. She was an adherent of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Merigomish.
She is survived by brothers Joseph (Glenna) MacLean, Goshen; Junior (Joy) MacLean, New Glasgow; 3 nieces Heather, Terri and Janice and 3 nephews Barry, Jeff and Lance.
She was predeceased by a sister Janet Millen, aunt Kay MacIvor, nephew Steven MacLean and several other aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 7-9 pm on Thursday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gail Johnson-Murdock officiating. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Merigomish.
