PITMAN, Hazel Marian – age 101 of The Meadows Home for Special Care in Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2016 with family by her side. Born in Wellington, Yarmouth Co., N.S. on February 25, 1915 she was a daughter to the late Benjamin and Alice (Trask) Bain. Hazel was a member of the Hebron United Baptist Church and an avid gardener. She enjoyed working on the farm, knitting, and spending time with her family, friends and pets. She is survived by her brother, Alester (Mary) Bain, The Meadows; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Wallace; brother, Raymond Bain; and sister, Rita Crosby. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A graveside service was held Friday, August 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Hebron, Rev.
