Walker, Stewart Charles (Charlie)
Age 65 of Digby. It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Charlie Walker. He passed away Friday, July 29th in the South Shore Regional Hospital after a battle with Vascular Dementia.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Neil & Pat (Keating) Walker. He completed Grade XII at Sydney Academy and then graduated from Acadia University. Charlie taught for over 30 years at the Digby Regional High School. He was an avid athlete playing hockey for Sydney Academy and Acadia University and junior baseball for the Sydney Sooners. He also was an active hockey referee and loved playing golf at Digby Pines.
He is survived by his three children: Nick (Jamie & grand-daughter Rowan), Carly (Jeremy), Morgan (Nate) all of Yarmouth and his brother David (Linda) in Bridgewater.
The remain were entrusted to Jayne’s Funeral Home in Digby. A funeral service was held from Grace United Church Thursday August 4th, Rev. Alex Constable officiating. A reception followed in the Church Hall.
