
Marian Hogberg

Marian Hogberg of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan and formerly of Orkney and Climax, Saskatchewan passed away suddenly at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon on Monday, August 8, 2016 at the age of 68. She was predeceased by her husband Bill Hogberg, her parents Bob and Joan East, brothers Claude East and Paul East, her father & mother-in-law Arvid and Mabel Hogberg. Marian will be lovingly remembered by her son Dean Hogberg (Tonia) and grandchildren Shellbea, Kayden, Robert and Randie; daughter Jolene Gershon (Rocky) and granddaughter Samantha and great granddaughter Molly Richards, granddaughter Trista (Brian Taylor) and great granddaughter Elaina Taylor and grandson Parker Richards; brothers Robert (Carol) East, Les East and Craig (Deb) East as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Marian was born in Climax, Saskatchewan on July 25, 1948. She was raised on the East family farm south of Orkney, Saskatchewan. She received her education at Whitewater and Val Marie Schools. Throughout her life she worked at various occupations such as babysitter, telephone operator, nurses aid at Climax Hospital, Climax Hotel, D & H Store in Climax, Bracken Hotel, Shaunavon Foods, and finally at the Red Apple in Shaunavon. Following her retirement she continued to live in Shaunavon. Marian’s favorite sport was curling and she also played softball but her very favorite past time was gardening. Her yard was always full of flowers and a large garden. Marian also enjoyed camping and fishing at Duncairn Dam and Cypress Hills Park with her family. No service will be held at this time.
