We, the family of Lawrence Cameron MacVicar, regret to announce his passing on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born August 2, 1945, in Sydney, he was a son of the late Colin and Ada (Ducksbury) MacVicar. Lawrence is survived by his daughter, Janet MacVicar (Meghan Scott), Calgary, Alta.; sons, Collin MacVicar, Loch Lomond, Barry MacVicar, Kitchener, Ont. and David (Arthena) MacDonald, Halifax; sister, Elizabeth MacVicar, Sydney; grandchildren, Kristen, Joseph, Ryan, Morgan, Raeanna, Kay Lynn Cooper and Gavin; great-grandchildren, Addyson and Liam. He was predeceased by sisters, Jean Stewart, Margaret “Peggy” Dauphinee and Marilyn MacVicar; brothers, Allan “Bub”, Carl and Angus. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday 1 p.m., with Mr. Gary Grant officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Following the service a reception will be held at 290 MacVicar Road, Enon, N. S.
