KIEN, Dave (December 30, 1943 – August 21, 2016) –
Unexpectedly, sadly and suddenly, Dave passed away at the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa early in the morning of Aug. 21st 2016. Predeceased by his father Bill and his mother Faye. Loving husband of 52 years to Marion. Loving father of Tammy and Mark and his wife Brenda. Cherished grandfather of Lucy. Treasured brother-in-law to Alice Peltier (Winnipeg), Isabelle Morhart (Boyle), and June Gaucher (Coderre). Treasured uncle of Judy, Dianne, Gary, Barb, Jeannette, Kenny, Cathy, Terry, Jo-Ann, Cheryl, Randy, Collette, Todd, Tracey, and Mike. Adored great uncle to many more great nieces and great nephews. Dear cousin to many in Canada, US and Great Britain. Precious friend of many throughout Canada and the US.
Dave and Marion had recently moved to Iroquois, Ontario to live close to their daughter Tammy. When Dave wasn’t keeping busy “fixing up” the house, he was out on the front deck enjoying the view of the boats going through the locks on the St. Lawrence. He also enjoyed going for a bike ride or going camping with Marion. Dave will always be known for his kind and friendly nature. He was also always willing to lend a hand to help whether it be for his family, friends or a neighbor. His musical ability was legendary and was immensely enjoyed by his friends and family. He also enjoyed having a hearty discussion about current events which he kept up on through reading on the internet, watching the news or reading the newspaper. Additionally, Dave was immensely proud of his children and his granddaughter. Many thanks to all the wonderful nurses and medical staff who cared for him and for his family at the Winchester and Montfort Hospitals on his last day. As to Dave’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. He will be cremated and his future private interment in St. Matthew’s Cemetery in Mossbank, Saskatchewan will happen in 2017.
