NICKERSON, Roger Lee- age 77, of Overton, Yarmouth NS passed away peacefully on September 1st, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving wife and three children. Born in Yarmouth, NS on January 14th, 1939 he was the son of the late Samuel Kendrick Nickerson and Annie Rachel (Watkins) Nickerson. Roger was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church and was a fisherman all of his working life. Roger was an avid beachcomber, and also made outdoor wooden furniture. He is survived by his wife Jean (Bain) Nickerson; daughters Barbara (Steven) and Janet (Robert); son Randy (Michelle); brothers Donnie (Patsy), Joey (Debbie) and Glen (Kathy) and sister Alice (Dallas); 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers; William, Samuel Junior and Lewis. Visitation took place Sunday, September 4th, 2016 from 1-2 p.m. followed by the funeral at 2 p.m., in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Pastor Tim Turpin officiated. Interment followed in the Chegoggin Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to Charity of Choice.
