Selena Matthews

Passed away at the Blue Crest Nursing Home on September 2, 2016, Mrs. Selena Matthews of Grand Bank, NL, age 87 years. She is predeceased by her husband, Walter Matthews; mother, Violet Keeping; father, George James Keeping; sisters, Wanda Follett, Bertha Follett and Charlotte Follett; brother, Chesley Keeping; sons-in-law, Ray Kivi and Les Northcotte.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children, Phyllis Kivi (Les), Walter Matthews (Dinah), Marion Bungay (Harold), Joan Turk (Carl), Juliette Nolan (Tony), Calvin Matthews (Andrea), Hazel Prior (George), Flossie Northcotte, Melvin Matthews (Cora), Daisy Brenton (Rick), Sandra Fessler (Rob), Millicent Matthews (David); half sister, Jessie Hollett (Bill); step-son, Gilbert Matthews; step-daughters, Fronie Ralph (Arthur) and Catherine Punkari; 19 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a large circle of other family and friends. The funeral service was conducted by Major Harold Bungay, Major Reid Colbourne, & Major Phyllis Blundell-Colbourne at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 5th from the Salvation Army Church, Grand Bank. Music was provided by the Salvation Army String Band. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank. Pall Bearers were; Walter Matthews, Melvin Matthews, Daisy Brenton, Parker Drake, George Prior, Rick Brenton, & Jayden Langdon. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank
