It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Scott announce his peaceful passing at home on September 28, 2016. John was a passionate chemist, a long time professor at Memorial University of Newfoundland and a keen lover of all things related to the mind. Predeceased by son Nicholas. Leaving with loving memories are his wife of 26 years, Kathleen (Hine); daughters Kitty (Tom) and Victoria; stepson Craig (Valerie, Eleanor and Erin Stewart); grandson Elliott Coen; sisters Norma and Doreen and their families in England; Joan the mother of his children; as well as many family and friends in the UK. The family would like to send a sincere thank you to Dr. Robert Woodland for his years of ongoing care for John. At John's request cremation has taken place. Visitation at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday October 1, 2016 from 2-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to Bridges to Hope.
