Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre after a valiant struggle with cancer at age 79. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Mary, and his sister Joan Kenny. Leaving with sadden hearts and loving memories his devoted wife of 58 years, Ruby, children Cathy Carroll (Keith), Keith (Janet Case) and Sherry Fogwill (Bill), along with his grandchildren Adam, Melanie, Nicholas, Sydney and Rose. He will also be sadly missed by his brother Ralph (Paula), brothers and sisters-in-law Hazen (June) Walters, Marion Trask, Elaine (Orin) Corning, and Ed Kenny, along with a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Art was a retired manager of the Avalon Mall, an active speaker with Toastmasters International, and a lecturer on public speaking at Memorial University School of Pharmacy. A special thank you to all the staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation and the Palliative Care Unit for their wonderful comfort and compassion. Visitation will take place at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, October 5th, 10 AM until 9 PM and Thursday, October 6th, noon until 2 PM. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 6th, 2 PM at Carnell's Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Art's memory may be made to the SPCA or to the Dr. H.
