George Edgar Sr. Piatt

Passed peacefully away at the Veteran's Caribou Pavilion, Dr. L. A. Miller Centre on Monday, October 10, 2016. The family of George Piatt come together to celebrate his life of 91 years, a life that included his loving wife Pearl (nee King) and his children Yvonne, George Jr. (Bonnie) and John Forrest (Nancy). Predeceased by his wife Pearl, October 31, 1996 parents Forrest Clayton and Bessie Mae Piatt, mother and father-in-law: Lily and John King, sister and brothers: Frances, Forrest and Don, sisters-in-law: Kay Clinkard and Daphne Bajzak, brothers-in-law Jack King and Jack Clinkard. He was fortunate to have such wonderful and loving grandchildren: Erin (Giovanni), Jonathan (Trista), Nadine Lidstone (Andrew), Grace (Colin), Ella (Steve), Forrest, Michael, Bereket and Freya and great-grandson Jasper. George also leaves his brother-in-law Denes Bajzak, sister-in-law Margaret House, Fred and Janey Naslund and a family of nephews and nieces from across Canada and the United States. Special thanks to niece Mary Jeffery, pharmacist and staff of Medicine Corner, Cal, Barb and Gregg, homecare providers TLC and Rosemore, staff and doctors at the Caribou Veterans's Pavilion and family doctor Tony Rolfe. A thank you also goes out to special friends, the Soper boys: Ray, Rick and Wayne, Ricky and Elaine Coish, Dave and Brenda Lewis, Terry and Paula Bullock, Cathy and Neil Quigley, John and Alice Ide, Joe Stanley, Ellen Power, Melany Foley and Abby Van Gelder. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Wednesday from 7-9 pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Holy Innocents Anglican Church on Friday at 11 am. Interment will follow at Holy Innocents Anglican Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in George's memory to Community Food Sharing Association.
