Phyllis Eleanor Moore, 92, of South Pasadena passed peacefully into Heaven on September 17, 2016 surrounded by loving family and friends. Born on March 12, 1924 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada to Jarvis and Lydia Shail (Anderson), Phyllis grew up in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and Vancouver, British Columbia. The youngest of five children, Phyllis was a spirited sister, dedicated daughter and the recipient of the Governor General’s Award of Saskatchewan for academic excellence. She is survived by her children, Ron (Linn) and Marilyn; granddaughter, Allison; Allison’s mother, Lynn and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She is predeceased by her husband Roy, grandson Randy, sisters Mildred, Blanche and Fern and brother Vern. Phyllis married Roy Moore, her childhood sweetheart, in 1945 and together they embarked on a lifetime of adventure, living and working in Peru, Colombia, Libya, Malaysia, Japan, Korea and Costa Rica. They spent the retired years of their 67 year marriage in British Columbia and Florida, and in her last years, Phyllis lived in Texas. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and a dedicated community volunteer. She was an avid reader and lover of words. Her gentle spirit, wisdom and strength and her mission to spread laughter and joy will forever be an inspiration to us. A service was held at the Feaster Chapel, 701 6th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, Florida on September 20, 2016.
