Passed away in the presence of his loving family following a short battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Lawrence Harris age 68 years. Predeceased By his mother Maisie Kendall. Left to mourn his loving wife Mary (Burke); daughters Sherry (Brian) and Teena (Allen); son Larry (Kristy); grandchildren Brianna, Jane, Benjamin, Brandon, Kailey and Parker; father Chester; brothers Ted (Eileen), Robert (Pam - deceased); sisters Sandra Strickland (Hayward), Michelle Lilley (Scott); sisters-in-law Kathleen Burke (George - deceased) and Rosemary Burke (Dick - deceased), Aunt Greta Cave (Frank -deceased) and Uncle Lawrence (Bessie); numerous special nieces, nephews and cousins and wonderful friends. Long-term employee of the St. John's City Council. The Harris family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Carmel Collins, Dr. Karen Downton, Anne Marie Whalen and all of the tremendous and caring staff at Eastern Health Cancer Clinic, you helped us cope in difficult times and to remember to savour every precious moment. We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to our amazing family and friends who have generously offered their love, support, and nurturing meals. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave., Mt. Pearl on Monday, October 17, 2016 and Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Barrett's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday October 19, 2016 at 11 am. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family invites all guests to a reception and celebration of Larry's life at Barrett's Funeral Home immediately following the interment. In honour of Larry's love of children, donations to the Children's Wish Foundation respectfully requested in lieu of flowers. Larry "Bink" will be fondly remembered by all who knew him for his musical talent, his melodic voice and his ability to capture and light up a room with the gift of song.
