It is with great sadness that the family of the late Carl King announce his passing at his residence in Corner Brook at the age of 79 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 54 years Shirley (nee Collins); son Donald (Sharon) King, Nanaimo, BC; daughter Lisa King, Corner Brook; his furry friend Sam; sisters: Brenda (Gerald) Piercey, Nova Scotia and Norma Rideout, Campbellton; sisters-in-law: Mona (Wycliffe) Stratton, Corner Brook and Sylvia Collins, Corner Brook; brother-in-law Robert (Judy) Collins, Toronto; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Caroline King, parents-in-law Frederick and Viola Collins and brother-in-law Reginald Collins. A special thank you to Dr. Coleman. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Monday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. from The Salvations Army Temple, O'Connell Drive with Captains Cory and Pamela Pinksen officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen.
