Peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Hospital Alberton, on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 of Douglas Allan Wallace of Alberton, aged 78 years. Beloved husband of Ferne (nee Rennie) Wallace. Born at Elmsdale on October 7,1938, he was the son of the late Merrill and Pearl (nee Brennan) Wallace. Dear father of Darlene (David) Getson of Kildare, Glen (Shauna) of Pincher Creek Alberta, and Tracy Wallace of Alberton. Cherished grandfather to Logan Getson of Lauretta, Tyler (Jodi) Wallace of Alberton, Lindsey Getson of Charlottetown and Jack Wallace of Summerside. Great grandfather to Chloe Wallace and Decan Getson. Dear brother to Bill (Late Evelyn) of Mississauga, ON, Lulu (Late Robert) MacAssey of Alma, Jean (Weldon) Rennie of Alma, Ida (Late Stewart) MacDonald of Covehead, Raymond (Sandra) of Holland Landing, ON, Donnie (Nancy) of Holland Landing, ON, Debbie (John) Moore Nestleton, ON. He is also survived by brother's and sister's in law, Fred and Eva Rennie of Union and Glenn and Lorna Rennie of Kensington. He was predeceased by brothers, Clayton, Roger and Blair. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home Alberton. No visiting hours by personal request. Funeral Thursday afternoon from the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. Rev. Lynn McKinnon officiating.
