It is with overwhelming sadness and broken hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, father and grandfather, Robert William MacIntosh, age 53, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, on October 14, 2016. Robert was the son of Joan MacIntosh (Bevan) and Bill MacIntosh (Mary). He is also survived by his two brothers, Tim (Doreen) and Derek (Kim); his daughter, Ashley (Duke); two grandchildren and his paternal grandmother, Agnes Matthews, as well as step sisters, Michelle Coffin, Natasha Frame; step brothers, Brad Coffin and Michael Brennick. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Lillian and Arthur Bennett. Robert had a passion for cooking. He was employed at NSCC and was working toward his red seal as a chef. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. With celebration of life the following day, Friday, October 21, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Reception to follow. Burial to take place in Resurrection Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Paul MacDonald and the staff at the CBRH Trauma Unit who worked tirelessly for Robert. Family flowers only, in leiu of flowers, donations in Roberts memory can be made to the SPCA, or a charity of one's choice.
