John Ronald (Ron) Funk, age 70, of Stewart Valley, Sk passed away October 6, 2016 at his residence. A Memorial Service will be planned for a later date. Ron is survived by his life partner Judy; daughter Rhoni Lynn (Wally) Czech and their children Chase, Nate and Hunter; Heidi Ali (Jason) Saurewein and their children Jessica, Taylor and Brad; stepson Brad (Marie) Podolski and their daughters Alexis, Rachelle; great granddaughter Berlynn; one sister Marilyn Linder of Regina and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by mother Anna Funk; father John Funk and one brother Leonard Funk. Ron was born on December 26, 1945 in Swift Current, Sk. He attended Turnhill School in the Stewart Valley area, Boarding School in Outlook and O.M. Irwin School in Swift Current. Ron was married to Wendy Deyell with whom he had two daughters, Rhoni Lyn and Heidi Ali. Ron came back to the family farm in 1984. He stayed on the farm until about 2006, when he and Judy retired and rented an apartment in Swift Current so Judy could be closer to work. The farm was always the permanent home, going back and forth from Swift Current to Stewart Valley. Ron was a member of the Eagles Club in Swift Current and also enjoyed discussing politics, which would be fully in depth and straight forward as to how Ron felt about which party he was with. Ron always valued all of his friendships with the neighbors around the home place and in Swift Current. In Ron's memory, memorial donations may be made to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
