It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert "Bob" Simms announce his passing on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 68 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 47 years Emily (nee Rose); children: Jamie and Patti; step-daughter Joyce; sisters: Barbara Simms, Ellen (Sergio) Marin, Ruth Fisher and Lisa Simms; brothers: Karl Simms and Dave (Marie) Simms; sisters-in-law: Ann Simms and Margie Butt; brother-in-law John (Irene) Rose; as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Gideon and Glenneth Simms, brother Brian Simms, parents-in-law Harold and Winnifred Rose, sister-in-law Marie Decker and brother-in-law Reg Butt. A special thank you to the Doctors and nurses and staff at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Monday, October 31 from the hours of 12-2 p.m. from where the funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. with Major Frank Johnson officiating.
