78, Trepassey, Newfoundland, originally from Liverpool, Nova Scotia passed suddenly, but peacefully in her sleep, after a lengthy illness, at Chancellor Park, on November 6th, 2016. Predeceased by her father George and her mother Ellen Whalen, both of Liverpool. Elizabeth (Betty) was a devoted wife for 60 years and a caring mother and grandmother. She is survived by loving husband Leo, Trepassey; daughters Rebecca (Daniel Riordan), Spokane, Washington, Cheryl (Bruce Gallant) Halifax, Nova Scotia, Darlene Sutton, Paradise, Tami, Winnipeg, Manitoba and Heather (Perry Penney), Mount Pearl, and son Scott Pennell, Spokane, Washington, grandchildren Kyle, Shayne, Jesse, Samuel, Madison and Sebastien. Betty is survived by sisters Janette Deganis, Barbara (Wayne Peterson), special nephew Roy and wife Gail Whalen, Liverpool and a large circle of relatives, including in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Margaret, Dorothy and Mary; brothers George (Budd), William and John; and her special son-in-law Clarence Sutton. Sincere thanks to all the staff at Chancellor Park, in particular all the nurses who cared for Elizabeth during her illness. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Fahey's Funeral Home. As per Elizabeth's wishes a private memorial service for family only will be held in the upcoming months. No flowers by request. Donations may be made in Elizabeth's memory to the Heavenly Creatures to recognize her passion and love of all animals, especially her dogs.
