Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on Monday, November 7, 2016 at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital. Son of the late Alfred Spearns and Stella Fleming. He is survived by his beloved wife Maureen (nee Legge); loving and proud father of Kim (Joe Riche), Barry (Angela MacKenzie) and Krista (Shawn Dohey); loving grandfather of Jessie Riche, Mitchell and Lucy Spearns, Carly Dohey; brothers Mike (Betty), Ron (Ruth) and Kevin (Debbie); sisters Joan Peddle and May Stafford (Dennis); brothers and sisters-in-law Mary Gettings, Bernice Gonzales, John Legge, Frances Rowe, Kathleen Legge and Jeanine Pearcey. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-law Patricia Peddle, Theresa Dunn, Jim Legge, Peter Legge and Ralph Legge Jr. As well as a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. from Caul's Chapel. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Ronald McDonald House.
