Passed peacefully away at his residence on November 8, 2016 in his 93rd year. Howard Pack, formerly of Gunridge, Bay Bulls, long-time resident of St. John's. Predeceased by his parents: Henry and Flora Pack; brothers: Ron (Ethel), Eric (Ethel); infant sister: Violet; in-laws: Donald Chafe, Eric Hounsell, Hazel Squires, Eric Chafe (Mary). Leaving to mourn his wife of 60 years: Sarah (nee Chafe); daughter: Glenda Pack (Peter Quinlan); proud grandfather of Norah and Kathleen Quinlan; sisters: Olga Hounsell, Dorothy (Fred Noel), Pearl (Bill Janes); in-laws: Max Chafe, Marion Chafe and Frank Squires. Uncle Howard will be fondly missed by his many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and neighbours. Howard was a long-time Plumber and partner with Pack's Plumbing and Heating Ltd. He spent his early years sailing on the Imperial oil tankers which laid ground for many a tale. Some of his favorite times were spent around the wharf in Petty Harbour. Many thanks to his long-time physicians Dr. Percy Crocker and Dr. Kevin Melvin, as well as the staff at TLC Home Care Services. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Thursday from 12:00 pm. - 9:00 pm and on Friday from 2:00 pm. - 9:00 pm. Funeral service will take place at St. Thomas's Anglican Church on Saturday at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held at St. George's Anglican Cemetery, Petty Harbour on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 11:00 am.
