Robert Minoru Nakashima of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday November 13, 2016 at the age of 95. Bob was born on March 16, 1921 in Moose Jaw to Harry and Matsuno Nakashima. Bob received his education in Moose Jaw and went on to become a dental technician by working under the skilled expertise of his father for 35 years at Modern Moose Jaw Denture Clinic in the Walter Scott Building. In 1974 Bob ventured out on his own and opened up Bob's Denture Clinic. Bob was a perfectionist and took great pride in his work. At 75 years young, Bob retired. Bob and his wife Doris enjoyed travel to Hawaii, casino bus trips and frequent road trips to Winnipeg. Besides travel and his beloved grandchildren whom he was extremely proud of, Bob loved to cook, garden and shop. In Bob's earlier days he was an avid league bowler. He participated in numerous bowling tournaments that netted him many trophies. Friday night card games and a good cigar with his many friends became a weekly ritual. Bob will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Doris and their daughters: Elaine (Greg) McKeown and Patti (Mark) Gibney. Bob looked forward to family gatherings, visits and holiday celebrations with his grandchildren: Gary (Trish) McKeown, Daniel (Zana) McKeown; Justin (Erin) Gibney, Michael (Tess) McKeown and Kiyomi (Taylor) Gibney : great granddaughter Olivia McKeown; and his special canine Lola. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Volker Rininsland and June, FHHR staff and Home Care for their excellent care and assistance which allowed Bob to remain in his own home until his last 2 months of life. We would also like to extend very special thanks to the exceptional staff at Pioneers Lodge for their compassion, care and loving ways. You have all made a difference for which we will be forever grateful. In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Memorial donations, may be directed to Pioneers Lodge, 1000 Albert St, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2Y2 In living memory of Bob, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
