John Edwin Shepard

We, the family, regret to announce the passing of John Edwin Shepard on November 3, 2016, at home. Born in South Head, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary (MacPherson) Shepard. John was a member and elder of Knox United Church, Glace Bay. He worked with the Federal Government as a director of Weights and Measures. John and Linda retired back to Glace Bay, after which he took employment with Stream. He is survived by numerous cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife, Linda (Roberts); his brother, Roy. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be celebrated 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 24, at Curry’s Funeral Home Chapel, 775 Main Street, Glace Bay. The Rev Ralph Johnston will be officiating. The interment will follow in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, donations may be made to Palliative Care or Knox United Church.
