ABERCROMBIE – Patricia Priscilla “Pat” Fitzgerald, 79, Abercrombie, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Pictou, she was a daughter of the late Albert Sanford Porter and Mary Laura (Kennedy) (Porter) Anderson.
Pat was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was known as “nanny to the rescue”. Pat will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Throughout her life, she greatly enjoyed gardening and singing with her daughters. Pat leaves a rich legacy of love.
Surviving are her husband, Arnold Fitzgerald; daughters, Debbie (Kenneth) Banks, Pictou; Darlene (Wayne) Lumsden, Trenton; Donna Fitzgerald (Ray Hayman), West Branch; grandchildren, Johnathan, Derrick, Caitlin, Laura, Rebecca, Krista, Katie and Colby; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Tori, Sophia, Gracie, Nevaeh and Zoe; brother, Robert “Inky” (Frances) Porter, Abercrombie; step-sister, Agnes (Sandy) MacPherson, Abercrombie; step-brother, Morgan (Patricia) Anderson, Abercrombie; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Pauline Burnett.
In keeping with Pat’s wishes her family will celebrate her life privately.
