It is with broken hearts that we announce Wayne MacLean received his final call to the office on November 29th, 2016, surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Sydney Mines on October 8th, 1952, Wayne was the son of Theresa (Day) and the late Wilson (Wick) MacLean.
He worked as Chief Custodian at Memorial High School for over 38 years before retiring in 2014. There was nothing he couldn't fix, and nothing he wouldn't do when called upon. He was always there to lend a hand. When he wasn't making sure his garage was pristine and his vehicle sparkling, he would be enjoying fishing with his friend Dave.Wayne was a proud father, grandfather and son.
Left behind to mourn his loss and keep his memory alive are his children, Ryan (Noelle) and Gena (Andrew MacLeod); his granddaughters, Elena, Raeha and Luca and his mother, Theresa. He is also survived by his siblings, Brenda (Basil) Crane, Jackie (Barbara), Corrine (Alex Lovell) and Troy (LaRose) and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Besides his father, Wayne was predeceased by his grandparents, Wally and Regis Day and Charles and Gladys MacLean.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place at Wayne's request.
A Mass of Celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Bras d'Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating.
Following the mass, a reception honouring Dad's life will be held at the church hall.
