Passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly, on December 12, 2016, Catherine Smart age 86 years. Predeceased by her parents James and Josephine McGrath, husband James, and siblings Mary Cantwell (Richard), Francis, Larry (Anne) and Jimmy. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughter and best friend Jo-Anne Whitten (Ed), sons: Randy (Karen) and Robert (Michelle); grandchildren: Geoffrey (Amanda), Robin (Matthew), Allison (Bill), Julie (Ryan), Lisa (Ian) and Susan; her darling great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Lindsey, Charlie, Abigail and Aaron; many nieces and nephews especially nieces Ann, Patricia and Bernadette in Torbay; special cousin Mary Murphy; the Smart family: Martin (Annie), Michael (Marie) and Tom (Phyllis); sister-in-law Bridget Manning (Pat), as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Thursday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Saturday, December 17th, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Catherine`s memory may be made to a charity of one`s choice.
