Passed peacefully away in the arms of his loving wife and daughter on Tuesday, December 13 after a lengthy illness. David Patrick Finn, age 79 years of the Goulds, recently resided in Riverhead/St. Mary's. David was a kind, honest, hard-working man who had strong principles, and a deep faith in God. He loved the outdoors, looked forward to "wetting" a line in the spring, hunting rabbits in the fall and traipsing over the barrens to get the blueberries, blackberries and partridge berries. He loved a good game of "growl", loved to dance and looked forward to old time parties with singing, dancing and performing his recitations, as well as a few little ditties. His greatest love was for his family who meant the world to him. Leaving to mourn his loss are his loving wife and best friend of 47 years Patricia (nee Brown); his daughter Jane (Brian) Delaney, his daughter Carolyn (Darrell) Discher and son David Jr., as well as his two precious grandchildren Devon and Adam Discher of whom he was so proud; brother Joseph (Martha); sisters Marie Guiney (Cyril), Eileen Walsh, Bride Drew and sisters-in-law Mary Finn and Regina Brown; brothers-in-law Bill Brown (Meredith), John Brown (Sheila), and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially Sheila Lee and Jacinta O'Connell. He is predeceased by his mother and father Jane and Patrick Finn; his brother Stan and his brothers-in-law Jim Walsh and Albert Brown; his parents-in-law William and Bridget Brown. Also a very special thank you to the staff, doctors and nurses of 4 North A, Health Sciences Centre, who took such wonderful care of David, your compassion was truly appreciated. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Thursday, from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday from 12 noon - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 10 a.m. from St. Kevin's Church.
