WILLIAM "GIGI" MACASKILL

It is with shattered hearts that we announce the passing of our brother, uncle, cousin, coach and friend. Gigi was born on April 28, 1956 to the late Angus and Rosie (Crane) MacAskill.
Gigi was an avid soccer player and bowler, often breaking the 400 mark. He coached numerous children during the past 30 years in both soccer and bowling. Gigi will be remembered fondly by all who knew him for his quick wit and sense of humor which he kept to the very end.
Gigi is survived by his brother, Angus “Gus” (Alixe); sisters, Diane Kennedy, Ann (Dave) Tutty, Ivy (Danny) Rankin, Leona (Stuart) MacNeil, Kathy (Sandy) Bennett; brother-in-law, Allan MacDonald. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his “kids” of the bowling team. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sisters, Marie MacDonald, Eva (in infancy) and brother-in-law, Richard Kennedy. Memorial donations can be placed in Gigi’s memory to palliative care. The family would like to thank the nurses in 4D and palliative care and Dr. D’Intino for their great compassion and care for Gigi’s during his brief illness.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2 p.m. at St. Alban’s Church, Whitney Pier under the direction of Brenda Drake, Archdeacon.
