With profound sadness we, the family, announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Theresa Moore on December 17 at age 88 in Dartmouth, N.S.
Born in New Waterford, N.S., she was the daughter of the late James and Veronica (MacPherson) Gardiner.
At age 19 Theresa married the late Francis (Laddie) Moore and settled in Whitney Pier where they raised seven children. Theresa was a faithful member of Holy Redeemer Parish in Sydney and in later years Saint Thomas More Parish in Dartmouth. She moved to Halifax in 2012, where she resided at Northwood for two years before moving to the Admiral Long Term Care Centre in 2014. Theresa was a generous soul whose door was always open. She will be fondly remembered as being most comfortable in her housecoat and slippers and ever present cuppa' tea (except in public where she was dressed to the nines). Blessed with a dry wit, she loved to laugh especially at practical jokes.
She is survived by daughters, Trudy (Jim Macdonnell) and Joanne (Jim Burke); sons, Jim (Barbara), Frank (Dawn) and Kelly. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Theresa was predeceased by husband, "Laddie"; sons, Michael and Jerry; brothers, James and Malcolm; sisters, Annie, Martha, Eileen, Olive, Mary, Rodena and Veronica.
Cremation has taken place and a Mass to celebrate Theresa's life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Donald K. Walker Funeral Home in Dartmouth.
