We regret to announce the passing of Claudia Eugene Steele, 72, on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines on December 12, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Sadie (MacDougall) Steele. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish of Sydney Mines. She enjoyed her days spent at the Harbour View Adult Day Program.
Claudia is survived by her sisters, Sue Kelly, Stratford, ON, and Debbie Walker (Blaise), Dartmouth, as well as her brother, Bryan Steele (Carolyn), Dartmouth. She is also survived by her aunt and uncle, Evelyn and Johnny MacDougall and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Juanita Steele.
The family would like to send out special thanks to Valerie Feltham and Dr. John and Monica Rogers, as well as her neighbors and friends at the Parkview apartments for their kindness and support over the years.
There will be no visitation. The funeral Mass will take place on Friday, December 23, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. James Oliver officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northside Mental Health Clinic, or the Harbour View Adult Day Program.
