MARGARET FLORENCE OSMOND
February 12, 1938- December 24, 2016


It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Osmond announces her passing on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, with her loving family by her side. Born in Port-aux-Basques, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Cecily (Allen) Battiste. Margaret was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years Arch and her daughters, Carolann (Gerard) Battiste and Wendy (Jason) Anderson, both of Port-aux-Basques; grandchildren, Mike Battiste, Kyle Anderson and Amy (Brad) McCullough; great granddaughter, Emma; brothers and sisters in law, Norm (Marion) Osmond, Roy (Grace) Osmond, Dave (Betty) Osmond, Ronnie (Joanne) Osmond and Judy Osmond, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by brothers, Roy (Betty) Battiste, Fred (Eileen) Battiste, Henry (Bertha) Battiste and sisters, Edna (Fred) Banks and Lillian (Windell) Herritt, brother-in-law, Don Osmond. The family received family and friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Port aux Basques on Monday, December 26 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place on Tuesday, December 27 at 2 p.m., from St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill.
