Passed peacefully away at St. Clares's Mercy Hospital in the presence of his loving family on Saturday, January 7, 2017 Gerard (Gerry) Walsh of St. Catherine's in his 92nd year. Predeceased by parents: Theresa & James, daughter-in-law Patsy, seven brothers & two sisters. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are his loving wife of 62 years Mary B. (nee Power), daughter Rita Tremblett (Fergus), sons: Gerard (Bonnie) & Art (Sandy), five grandsons: Scott (Eleanor), Blair, Bradley (Jennifer), Michael (Jennifer) & Stephen, one grand-daughter Lori (David), eleven great-grand-children, many nieces, nephews & close friends too many to mention. In his early years Gerry was the local mail carrier from Argentia to St. John's & communities within. From the early sixties he was the local bus driver for Our Lady of Mount Carmel till 1979. Gerry also worked with the Federal Government at the Experimental Farm. Resting at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Sunday from 6 pm - 9 pm, Monday from 2 pm - 4 pm & 7 pm - 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 10:00 am from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Internment in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Special thanks to those who came to Mary's assistance on New Years Eve, Gibbon's Ambulance, Fr.
