Melvin Curlew, age 69, passed away on January 1, 2017 at the Labrador-Grenfell Health Centre in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Leaving to mourn, his common-law wife, Justine Perkins; children Brenda, Bonnie (Nick Quinn) and Beverly (Ed Compton); step-children Israel, Pauletta, David and Angie; brothers Rod, Freeman, Albert and Don; sisters Lucy, Jean and Bernetta; 11 grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Caroline Curlew and his brother, Wilfred. Visitation took place on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. The funeral service was held on Thursday, January 5, at Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle with Pastor Wayne Noble officiating. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the family were be graciously accepted.
