On January 31, 2017, at home in Ottawa surrounded by family, he passed away peacefully into the presence of his Savior. George was born May 19, 1938 in the community of Peters Road in Prince Edward Island. In 1958, he started working in the IT business for an insurance company in Toronto. Later he moved to Ottawa and worked in various consulting firms such as Systems Dimensions Limited (SDL) and System House. After managing the start-up of the Vancouver System House office, he returned home to Prince Edward Island and struck out on his own as a consultant. In 1982 he returned to Ottawa to start companies such as Systems Network, CNG, and Sirius Consulting with friends and associates. Eventually he retired to spend more time with his high school sweetheart – the lovely, fantastic and amazing wife – Pauline Johnston and his grandkids. George remained active in both his community and local Church, seeking to assist individuals and other families. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, children Greg, Steven (Maria) and Michael, as well as his grandchildren James, Christopher, Nicole, Ruth-Anne, and Grace, along with nieces and nephews and sister Elizabeth Grimmett (PEI).
