It is with great sadness the family of the late Violet Gilbert announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on February 5, 2017 in her 79th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories brothers: George Gilbert (Joyce), Clarence Gilbert (Rhoda) and John Gilbert; sister Ivy Roberts (Joseph); sister-in-law Genova Gilbert; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents: John and Martha Gilbert; sisters: Annie Gardner (Orestus), Ethel Randell (Roy), Marjorie Fiander (Kenneth); brother Maxwell Gilbert; sister-in-law Marie Gilbert. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Temple O'Connell Drive, with Majors Lorne and Barbara Pritchett officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army Home League or The Renal Dialysis Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
