Ray Humble, age 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2017. Ray was born September 1, 1927 to Helmer & Florence Humble in Bracken, Saskatchewan, — the youngest of five children. Ray married Jeannie Robertson on February 11, 1950. Ray is survived by his children, Patricia and her husband Mike Whyte, and Bob and his wife Roberta Humble. He is also survived by his six grandchildren and his eleven great-grandchildren. Ray was predeceased by his wife, Jeannie, in 2013 and by his four siblings. He was the last of his generation. Ray owned and operated Acme Electric. He was a successful business owner in Swift Current for many years. Ray loved to play baseball in his younger years, as well as golf and curling. In his later years, he enjoyed watching sports on TV and going for afternoon coffee with friends. Ray was dearly loved by his family and will be deeply missed. We look forward to seeing him again.

The Funeral Service was held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 12:00pm from the Swift Current Funeral Home Chapel, Swift Current, SK with Christine Ciona officiating. “Shall We Gather at the River,” “Lord of the Dance,” and “I’ll Fly Away” were sung by the congregation, with Arlene Olson as pianist. The tribute was given by Mike Whyte. The usher in the chapel was Ben Whyte. The Interment Service was held from Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, SK. In memory of Ray Humble, donations made to The War Amps of Canada would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
