Passed peacefully away at Pleasant View Towers on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the age of 103. Predeceased by her parents Matthew and Mary Ellen (nee Byrne); her sisters Mary (Larry) Mullaly, Anne (John) Emberly, Josephine, Bride (Leo) Johnson, Margaret and Maude; her brothers Jack (Mary) Murphy, Ambrose, Bernard (Cecilia) Lewis and Steve (Nell) McGrath. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life are many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews, especially Kenney and John Fraser Purchase, as well as other relatives and friends. Nell is resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd, on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 pm. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil service will be held on 7 pm on Sunday. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 9:30 am from Mary Queen of the World with a reception to follow at the parish hall. Interment will take place in Scared Heart Cemetery, Conche at a later date.
