Passed peacefully away on Sunday, February 19th, at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, William J. (Bill) Mitchell of Marystown. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, wife Theresa of 43 years; daughter, Sandra Kieley (Paul); son, William (B.J.) and fiancée, Jillian Hickman; special granddaughter, Rosanna Mitchell; grandchildren, Sarah, Amy and John Kieley; 7 great-grandchildren: Phoenix, Lèiland, Nova, Statham, Hazel, Lauren and Andrew; niece, Sherry (Jim) Knight; sisters-in-law, Anna (Mike) Spencer, Bride Green, Catherine Lundrigan and Mary Ryall; brothers-in-law, Joe (Madeline) Lundrigan, Garnet (Buck) Rowe and a large circle of relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents, John Joe and Rosanna Mitchell; sister, Sarah Mitchell (Charles Martin); parents-in-law, John & Annie Lundrigan; brothers-in-law, Jack Lundrigan, Joe Green, Bern Lundrigan and Jim Ryall; sisters-in-law, Pat Lundrigan, Joan Rowe and best friend, dog Mitch.

Cremation has taken place.

The Mass of Christian Burial took place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Marystown, on Friday, February 24th, at 10:30 am. Inurnment followed at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery in Marystown.
