Age 82, of Brickton, NS passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in St. John's, NL she was a daughter of the late William and Florence (Kean) Pearce. Joan was employed for many years in customer service with Sears Canada. She was a lifetime charter member of the Canadian West Highland White Terrier Club. She was also a member of IODE Rosemary Chapter, Middleton, a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church and a former member of the ACW. Joan enjoyed travelling, gardening, walking and loved her cats. She will be sadly missed by daughter Elizabeth (Larry) Milberry, Brickton; son Kenneth (Rachelle) Carter, Dartmouth; sister Ethel Weeks (Carl Vailloncourt), Ormandville, PQ; brothers George Pearce, South Branch, NL, Bill (Lucy) Pearce, St. John's, NL, Randy (Linda) Pearce, Torbay, NL; grandchildren Christopher and Joshua Carter and Kenneth Milberry; great-grandchildren Emily and Lydia. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Kenneth. In keeping with Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service at this time.
