Stephenville
Passed away peacefully on April 19, 2017 in the comfort of his home, Stephenville. Born June 17, 1943 in Grand Falls NL, Ron was the son of the late Clifford and Anne (Peyton) Jewer. He was an early employee of Ben's Pharmacy and later Newfoundland Power and Service Canada. He was a member of the First United Church. An avid sportsman from his youth, he was active in baseball, fishing, hunting and playing bridge. Perhaps his greatest pastime was golf. He was predeceased in 2006 by his wife of many years, Mary (Clarke). He is survived by his three children: Rhonda (Bernie), and Clark of Stephenville, and Cliff of Ontario, three sisters: Barbara (Bill) Spurr of Wolfville, NS, Joanne (Alex) Nicholson, Devon, AB, Diane (John) Hanratty, Stephenville. He is also survived by his special companion Vida Robinson Gough, and grandchildren Josh, Riley, Adam, Rebecca, Cruz, Nicole, Kaylie, Latisha and Leah. Ron had a wide circle of friends and cherished the time he spent with them. There will be no visitation. A Funeral service will be held at the First United Church, St. Clare Ave., Stephenville, at 2 pm, Saturday, April 22, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Church.
