Von Sarnowski, Waltraud “Trudy” 89, of Hunt’s Point, Queens County, passed away peacefully In Queens Manor, Liverpool on Sunday, April 16, 2017. Born in Oranienburg, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Packer Fritz and Helen Geborene (Wojczyk) Raschdorf. Trudy was a contributing writer for Reader’s Digest for many years. Trudy was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband Leo in 1997. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A graveside memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the White Point Community Cemetery. Donations in Trudy’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
