Passed peacefully away on Friday April 21, Vera Frances Griffin (nee Finn), aged 73. Predeceased by her parents Richard and Theresa Finn, brother William Finn, sister Anita Bishop, Chris Griffin and his parents, Dermot and Doris Griffin and Gerard Griffin. Left with fond and loving memories, son Brian Griffin (Ottawa), daughter Michelle Griffin (St. John's), grandson Christopher Griffin (Ottawa), brother Patrick Finn (Una-GFW), Barbara Finn (GFW), Boyd Bishop (Bonnyville), Vi Griffin (GFW), Rosemary Gaertner (Mark-Alton, Illinois), Michael Griffin (Diane-GFW), Monica Griffin (St. John's) and a long list of nieces, nephews, cousins and a circle of close friends. Many students and staff will remember Vera from her years working with Student Affairs at the MUN Medical School from 1974-2007. Following her retirement, Vera enjoyed gardening, travelling, walking her dog, Sammie and playing bridge but what gave her the most joy was spending time with her family and many friends. The family would like to thank the medical and nursing staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre and Palliative Care at the Miller Centre. Visitation to take place at Cauls Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road, St. Johns on Monday April 24, 2017 from 12-3 pm and 6:30-9:00 pm. Funeral service to be held Tuesday April 25, 2017 9:30 am from St. Teresa's Parish, 120 Mundy Pond Road St. John's. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Topsail Road.
