St. John's
After a lengthy illness, Tony Keating, aged 69, passed away at the Palliative Care Centre of the Miller Centre. Tony was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Catherine Keating and is survived by his wife of 47 years Catherine (Kay/Cathy), son Roger (BC), daughter Raelene (St. John's), Mariska (his cat, who thinks she's a dog), sisters Elizabeth, Mary (Tom Butt), Isabelle, Angela (NS, Kevin MacLean), and brothers Ron (Long Harbour, Agnes), Dominic, Edward (CBS, Pat McKeen) Bernard (Corner Brook, Ann), and Patrick (Collette Winsor). Tony loved life and loved people. His cooking skills found him at the centre of gatherings of friends and family on too many occasions to recount. His work in the bar industry of St. John's coupled with his outgoing personality has led his knowing people by name wherever he travelled, both in St. John's and throughout the Avalon. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of his life will be held at Caul's Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Rd., Tuesday April 25 at 2pm - 4pm and 7pm - 9pm. In lieu of flowers, donations will be graciously accepted to the Children's Wish Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
