Catherine ‘Kay’ Claire (Burke) Royal, 69, of Glace Bay passed away April 21, 2017 at home. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Georgina (Seymour) Burke. Mom was an easy going, fun loving, kind hearted soul who loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed a good cup of Tim's daily in the company of her companion Allan. She was very easily pleased and took great joy in helping others. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Survived by companion, Allan Pickford; sons, Brendan, Mike (Diane), Eddy (Effie); daughter, Beverly (Kevin) Michalik; brother, Mike (Sheila) Burke and sister, Linda Burke; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one on the way, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister, Nelly in infancy; sisters, Carmella and Frances, and brothers, Richard and Eddy. Cremation has taken place, there will be a funeral service on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists Memorial Chapel, 370 Reserve St, Glace Bay, 902-849-4199, with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating.
