Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday April 10, 2008, Gordon Newhook, age 91 years, of Norman's Cove. Predeceased by wife Sarah Jane (2005); daughter-in-law, Marilyn; son-in-law, Nelson; grandchildren: Tanya, Gary; sisters: Amy Smith, Rachel Smith. Leaving to mourn, sons: Herman (Hazel), Gerald, Richard (Florence), Gordon (Maureen); daughters: Alfreda (Wesley), Janet (Clifford), Irene, Dallas (Calvin), Jane (Bert); twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; brothers: Albert, Cecil; sister, Janet; sisters-in-law: Shirley Smith, Gladys Peddle, Nellie Peddle; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Holloway's Funeral Home, Whitbourne. Visitation Saturday, April 12, 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 10 p.m.; Sunday, April 13, Bethel United Church, Norman's Cove, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 2:00 p.m..
