March 4, 1918 - April 16, 2008. Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family on April 16, 2008 at the Veteran's Pavilion, Garfield White, age 90 years of Long Cove. Predeceased by son Donald; mother Eliza; father Stephen; brothers: Llewellyn, Leander and Harry; sisters: Jane, Evelyn, Sarah Liz and Georgina. Leaving to mourn wife of 65 years, Gladys White; brother Cleophas White; sister Pheobe Thorne; also leaving to mourn six sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law and a large number of nieces and nephews; also a large circle of other family and friends. A special thank you to his niece Beulah (Dave) for being there for Garfield in the last eleven months during his stay at the hospital. Beulah you will always hold a special place in my heart. Also a thank you to the doctors, 2nd floor nurses and staff at the veteran's Pavilion, you will never be forgotten. Resting at the Good Shepherd Anglican Church, Norman's Cove Thursday, April 17th at 7:00 p.m.; Friday 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Friday, April 18th at 2:00 p.m. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Norman's Cove.
