Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Friday, April 18, 2008, Gertrude M. Delaney of Gull Island, age 87 years. Predeceased by husband Peter; daughter Elizabeth 'Betty' Hurley; parents, Thomas and Catherine Rodgers; sisters: Johanna Oliver and Genevieve MacDonald. Leaving to mourn one daughter, Christine (Harvey) Button, Old Perlican; five sons: Cyril (Gen), Toronto, ON, Philip, Gull Island, Francis (Maisie), Fredericton, Daniel (Patsy), Gull Island and Joseph (Beverly), Gull Island; son-in-law John Hurley, Kingston; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Alice) Rodgers, Burnt Point; two sisters: Margaret Preston, Western Bay and Madeline (Chris) Kavanagh, Flatrock; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, MAIN HIGHWAY, WESTERN BAY. Funeral Mass to take place on Monday, April 21st at 10:00 a.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Northern Bay.
