May Nellie Stokes

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving mother, N. May Stokes (nee Vincent), surrounded by her loving family at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on April 18, 2008, N. May Stokes, age 89 years. Predeceased by husband Hubert, May 1984; daughter Shirley Ford, February 2008; mother and father, Barbara and Eugene Vincent; brothers: Harold and John Vincent; son-in-law Chesley Howse. Leaving to mourn five daughters: Jean Babstock (Carl), Barbara Myles (George), Isabel Parsons (Harvey), Margaret Gillard (Robert) and Vera O'Keefe (Cyril); two sons: Harold (Myra) and Lorne (Sharon); son-in-law John Ford; two sisters: Stella Stagg and Matilda Tiller (Frank); one brother, Solomon Vincent (Marie); one sister-in-law, Annie Humphries; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, friends, especially her friends from Cape Freels and St. Luke's Homes, which she called home for the past five years. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 7-9 p.m.; Sunday, April 20, 2008 from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. and on Monday, April 21, 2008 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral service to take place from St. James United Church on Monday, April 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. No flowers by request.
